Tree Advisory Group Sees Renewed Interest, Plus Climate Action Plan and Fur Ban at Select Board this Evening

The new Country care trees and blueberries planted by TAG at Country School

Perusing the Select Board agenda for tonight, the Owl was surprised and happy to see that there are 7 (seven!!!) candidates for positions on the Tree Advisory Group, also known as TAG. As a pure editorial comment, Weston needs to pay a lot more attention to its trees — they need some care before they fall over from neglect and the over-abundant love of bittersweet vines. The Owl is also particularly pained by various clear-cutting on lots, the most recent on Colchester at Conant where a new house or possibly a spaceship landing strip is planned.

In addition, the Climate Action and Resilience Plan is on the agenda, as well as the citizen’s petition for a fur ban in Weston. Also some fun zoning discussions such as 251 Merriam Street and the Riverside development at the old Liberty Mutual site. The Owl flew along for the Planning Board site visit of Riverside this morning and has all the feels for this one.

Agenda is here. See you later, Weston.
