Latest Covid-19 Vaccination Numbers for Weston

As of June 1, Weston has 74% of its residents vaccinated with at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, according to the latest numbers from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health published yesterday. The percentage of Weston’s population that has been fully vaccinated is now 60%.

The age group of 12-15 was approved for the Pfizer vaccination on May 12, and since most of that group is one shot in, with the second shot in the next couple of weeks (the Owlets get second shots today), the number for that group is expected to increase rapidly to full vaccination.

A little more than one month ago (April 29 numbers), 62% of residents were one shot in, and fully vaccinated stood at 41% (numbers from the Owl are here).

In an editorial comment, the Owl was surprised to see a gentleman carrying a large white sign yesterday at the corner of Pine Street and Highland Street that read “Covid is a hoax. Vaccines are bio-weapons.” While the Owl did not risk life and limb to take a photo, she has a corroborating witness in Mr. Owl, who has really good eyesight. The Owl sincerely hopes that this is not a town resident as he sort of ruined her day.

Get vaccinated, Weston! Life on the other side is really really good.
