Weston Art & Innovation Center Holiday Market Looking for Vendors

Deep into summer vacation, one of the Owlets has told me that I am not allowed to talk or even THINK about anything fall or winter holiday until after September 1 (school start). While I concur with his perspective and will unfriend any person who puts a mum in their yard before October 1 (true story), the following event has a deadline that makes it publishable now. If the Owl is at the risk of being unfriended due to posting about life post-summer, please stop reading now.
Are you crafty, arty, maker-y? Consider applying to be a vendor at the Weston Handmade Holiday Market on November 20, from 10 am to 5 pm. This local event showcases local arts and gifts. Local artists, makers and individuals can submit an application by September 6. Applicants will be notified of acceptance during the week of September 13. There is a $150 charge per table.
For those who are not the crafty types, but who enjoy browsing and buying local, the November 20 market will be a chance to find your very best holiday presents, or self-gifting opportunities.
The Owl asked Jean Cummings Arturi, Manager of the Arts and Innovation Center, how this event came about.
“In 2019, Johanna Elias rented the Main Floor of the Weston AIC and hosted a successful Holiday Market. In 2020 we decided to combine forces, hosting together with the AIC, this time with a focus on handcrafted or hand designed items,” Jean commented. “As a makerspace, we want to showcase and support artists, makers and individuals creating unique products; as a community space, we want to encourage people to shop local.”
Johanna and Jean, along with some AIC board members, will serve as jury for the event.
Weston Art & Innovation Center is at 356 Boston Post Road. https://westonaic.org/. Fall events and classes catalog can be found here.
