WFTA Announces 2021-2022 Walk Schedule

Lucky all of you who subscribe to the Owl, because you are getting word of the Weston Forest & Trail Association walk schedule BEFORE it is released to mailboxes and the website. The benefits of subscription just continue to accrue…
For those who have just moved to Weston, or perhaps have been under a rock since you moved here, WFTA’s amazing trustees run monthly walks on the first Sunday of the month from October-May, at 2 pm. Trustees get the summer off from trail walks, though horseflies and mosquitos are usually happy to accompany you wherever you go.
As a reminder, Weston is the home of 2,000 acres of protected conservation land, and almost 100 miles of trails. How many have you explored? The Owl has walked them all in a fit of pandemic boredom last year and I will say that every single one has its own delights. On the Owl’s wish list is more connections–southside, I am looking at you. Wouldn’t it be nice to walk north to south only on trails, Lincoln to Wellesley? We’re missing only a couple of connections and they’re on the south side…but I digress, as always…
Stay tuned also for information on the third annual First Day (January 1) walk–that will be posted later in the fall, and we hope to see everyone out there! For more information or to become a member* of WFTA, please see http://www.westonforesttrail.org.

*you do not have to be a member of Weston Forest & Trail Association, nor a resident of Weston, to join a trail walk. But we’d like you better. No, just kidding. But yeah, become a member because it’s the right thing to do.
