Opportunities to Get Shot in Weston

Oh, of course I debated the title for a few moments–this is zero judgement on hunting season which is open, nor is it editorial comment on the lack of bars and/or taverns in Weston. Wait, hold that last thought for a day or so–I have been to THE Tavern–I can’t wait to tell you about it.
This is about the flu shot. Weston is having a flu clinic (thank you, Board of Health and Weston Emergency Reserve Corps) which means you can go get your shot, or your kids’ shot AND socialize at the same time. Where socializing means masks and few people–it’s 2021, people, it’s what we’ve got. Get a shot, people! If you can’t make the clinic, I am absolutely sure your doctor will be happy to shoot you themselves. I got my shot last week and while I will say it was decidedly unfun, I feel better for having done it.
If you are able and want to get the flu shot, Weston makes it easy for you. Register now for a time slot on October 13, 2021 here. Note that there are two time periods–the first at 10 am-12 pm at the Council on Aging and the second from 4-7 pm at Town Hall. Please wear a mask. As of this writing, there were still slots open at Town Hall and at the Council on Aging. Appointments are for town residents and town employees, age 6 months+. I do not know of any employees under 6 months old but I suppose times are tough in filling open positions.
Here’s the fine print that is always read at warp speed on the radio: I am not a medical professional, so if you want to be massively informed, head over to the CDC website to see what recommendations they have for you. There are folks who can’t get the shots due to allergies, but I cannot comment on that because I have no clue what I’m talking about. Talk to your primary care physician.
I drove to Wellesley to get my flu shot last week. i want to see the risk analysis: Risk of injury driving on routes 20, 128 and 9, versus of risk of injury getting the flu.
