Weaver’s Guild Annual Fiber Arts Sale is November 5-7 at the AIC

Brrrrr….if this morning’s temperatures make you think of large fluffy scarves, hats and ponchos, you are in luck. The Weston Art & Innovation Center hosts the Weavers Guild of Boston for their fiber arts shopping event this weekend, November 5-7. The Weavers’ Guild of Boston is the oldest weavers’ guild in the United States (founded in 1922), but has updated its fashion sense over the years because handloomed flapper dresses just don’t sell.
From the marketing materials: “The Fiber Arts Annual Sale offers shoppers a wide range of over 1,600 individually handcrafted items. There is an extensive collection of creative clothing, including scarves and shawls, jackets, hats and jewelry. Household items such as blankets, rugs, placemats and towels are available as well. Most items are handwoven, but some knitted, felted and/or sewn pieces are also available.”
In addition to showcasing the designs of artisan weavers, the Guild will offer weaving demonstrations on a hand loom .
Dates: November 5 & 6, 10am-6pm & November 7, 10am-2pm. 356 Boston Post Road, Weston. Street parking is your best bet. Careful at the Intersection of Doom.
More information is here on the Weavers Guild of Boston and on the Art & Innovation Center of Weston.
