COA’s Second Annual Intergenerational Turkey Trail Walk – November 20

On Saturday, November 20, lace up your walking shoes and hit the Legacy Trail with family and friends for the Second Annual Turkey Trail Walk hosted by the Weston Council on Aging (COA) and Weston Recreation Department. Check out the Forest Service-rated trail, its views of the woods and fields, and Rand House, the Red Schoolhouse and the Hillcrest Barn. Wonder about what will become of them (oh, all right, I will stop already about how the Town is messing this up. Actually, I won’t. You can read about that here).

Sit on one of the 3000000 granite benches along the route, or on stumps at the Marian Case Nature Classroom on one of the forest trails. Check out the Class of 2028 tree, dedicated along with its two buddy hawthorns up at the top of the trail. Watch for actual turkeys or a circling red-tailed hawk.

Walkers will meet in front of the Council on Aging entrance to the Community Center on Saturday November 20 at 9:50 am. The walk will offer 1- and 2-mile loops. Pre-registration is not required. Stop by the COA patio after the walk to enjoy refreshments and music. Community-wide, all ages event 🙂 Bring your friends and family!
