The Long Goodbye: Old Farmstand at Land’s Sake Closes for Good Saturday

On Saturday, November 20 from 10 am-2 pm, the circa-1981 Land’s Sake Farmstand will have its last hurrah–not only for 2021, but for good. The farmstand is slated for removal as the new Animal Barn/Temporary Farmstand is built over the next months. No, Land’s Sake is not closing for good–only the 40-year old farmstand which will be replaced with a large and spiffy new building, which, if spiff is your thing, will be right up your alley. You can read more about those plans on the Land’s Sake website, which will be free of the Owl’s editorial comment.

The 80s are going out with a bang with the annual Pre-Thanksgiving Sale featuring farmstand produces, holiday meal essentials, pies and other artisan goodies. In addition, there will be a number of free family-friendly activities such as apple cider pressing, wool spinning demonstrations with the wonderful Faith Rand, and maple syrup tasting. Neighbor Nina Danforth has also moved her cute fluffo sheep to the front pasture for some idyllic landscape photos.

Land’s Sake is at 90 Wellesley Street. No pre-registration is necessary.
