WFTA Walk January 2 – Jericho Forest, French’s Field, Beaver Bridge

Beaver Bridge completed June 2021

Join Weston Forest & Trail on Sunday, January 2nd at 2 PM on a pleasant walk through Jericho Town Forest to French’s Field. Intrepid hikers have an option for an add-on loop to the new Cherry Brook arched bridge, constructed by Conservation Commissioner Rees Tulloss and nicknamed the Beaver Bridge. The hike will also touch on the Bay Circuit Trail on its way through in Weston (hikers will not do the whole 156-mile circuit). The estimate of hike distance is around 2-2 1/2 miles and the add-on loop will be less than a mile more.

In case of snow, this trek can be snow-shoed or cross-country skied — please consult the Weston Forest & Trail Association home page for any last minute changes or developments.

Meet at the Burchard Park tennis courts at 269 Concord Road. The walk should last one and a half to two hours. All ages are welcome, as are well behaved dogs on leash. Walkers need not be Weston Forest and Trail Association members, but are encouraged to consider joining as dues support the maintenance of Weston’s trails and open spaces. WFTA has been hosting Sunday Walks for over 60 years.

Please note that anyone with COVID-19 symptoms should stay home. The woods will see you another day.
