Just in case you all think that the Owl cares only about athletics, you would be wrong. While the Owlets are not musicians, I have always been a fan of Weston musicians and their talents and hard work. Our high school musicians are completely amazing –sixteen have been selected for the Massachusetts Music Educators Association (MMEA) All-State Festival in voice, orchestra, and band– according to the communication from Christopher Memoli, Weston Public Schools Music Director.

Students were selected for the 2022 Massachusetts All-State Band, Chorus & Orchestra by audition. They will perform at Boston Symphony Hall on  Saturday, March 5, 2022.

Mr. Memoli noted that there is a balance between band, orchestra and chorus, which is impressive–“I am so proud of our students and teachers whose dedication to excellence is so obvious in how they prepare for these auditions.”

Band- Ian Chang (11th grade- snare drum), Jonathan Henry (12th, timpani), Chloe Zhong (10th – flute), Daniel Zhu (11th- oboe)

Chorus- Adam Balbale (9th grade- tenor), Sean Balbale (11th grade – tenor), Trevor Gold (11th -bass), Thomas Lohse (12th-bass), Alida Svenson (10th-soprano), Philip Wohlfeld (10th-bass)

Orchestra-Carolyn Choi (11th grade – violin), Roy Huang (11th -violin), Andrew Kim (9th – cello), Ella Kim (11th-violin), Carson Valenta (10th – string bass), Eric Wei (10th – cello)
