The Women’s Community League invites you to join them for the Winter Chill Cocktail Party at the Weston Golf Club this Friday, March 11, 6-8 pm. It is all about raising money for the WCL Scholarship Fund…and being social!

There will be “Specialty Drinks and Appetizers,” and a cash bar. I am soooo curious about what kind of specialty drinks, and yet it’s soccer season already, so I will not be in attendance. Please remember that the Golf Cub hates denim, even your rhinestoned or ripped-for-$899 ones. Don’t do it.

The invitation reads “Come stag or with a friend or date to mix, mingle and support the scholarship fund.” I feel the need to digress for a moment because I really don’t like the “come stag” phrase. I blame the Brits, and in this case, they deserve it. A “stag do” is a bachelor party in British-ism, and a “hen party” is a (uggg another term I hate…) bachelorette party. I am not making this up. Read here. I think I would just say “bring yourself, your spouse or friend”. But no one asked me and no one cares.
