League of Women Voters Candidate’s Night April 28

The Owl received notice from the League of Women Voters of a Candidates’ Forum on Thursday, April 28th at 7:30 pm by zoom. This forum is for all candidates for office in this election year, and the voting public (and non-voting too) is encouraged to tune in.
All of the candidates, even those running uncontested, will be given the opportunity to speak. Candidates are encouraged to talk about the issues that their board is currently facing or, in the case of new candidates, introduce themselves to the community. As a candidate for Measurer of Lumber, I am actually allotted 3-4 minutes to talk about my platform. So tempting. And yet, no.
The School Committee race, the only contested office, is scheduled for 8:30 pm, with 4-minute presentations, followed by a question and answer period.
May I just editorialize for one moment? I am pretty bummed out that this forum will not be held in person this year. I think it could be done. Zoom is a difficult forum for question and answer, and the mute button. Just sayin’.
Meet the candidates, Weston! Details forthcoming…

I like how the Owl has an opinion about things, at least for the 50% of the time I agree. 🙂 keep it up.
I am crushed, Joel!! Only 50% of the time. Yeah, Katty told me that the attendance is so much better on zoom than in person that we may never do in-person again. Oh well. Ya win some and ya lose some.
