Weston May-hem Ongoing With Country Garden Club’s Gardenmania

Did you know there is going to be a Spinal Tap #2 movie? True Story. If you have not seen ST#1, you will have no idea what I’m talking about when I say Weston is going to 11 next week. Rest up–in fact, just head back to bed right now, and then buckle up buttercups, because now I see that Gardenmania joins the rest of the Celebrate Weston Mayhem next week.

Last year the Owl had an exposé (there I go all Frenchy again) on Weston’s two garden clubs. I shan’t be reviewing that except to say that Country Garden’s daffodil extravaganza at the high school made my spring, and that I can hardly wait for Weston Garden Club’s garden tour. In my home garden, the zinnias are in, thank you Food Project Lincoln, and a few more pollinator plants from Lincoln Land Conservation Trust shall arrive at exactly the same time as high school graduation on June 3 and I have no idea how I will manage that. Never mind, let’s talk GARDENMANIA!

The Country Garden Club’s Annual Fundraiser and Plant Sale called Gardenmania will be held May 19, 20, and 21 at the Golden Ball Tavern, affectionately known as the Gibbet. This plant sale helps to fund the high school courtyard project as well as the Council on Aging garden and many other beauteous CGC efforts around town.

Plants will be supplied by Colonial Gardens in Concord. If I were you, Weston, I would get there on Thursday or Friday because Saturday, May 21 is going to be bonkers (and they may be mostly sold out as well).

Thursday, May 19, and Friday, May 20, 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Saturday, May 21, 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Location: Golden Ball Tavern Museum, 662 Boston Post Road.

For more information, please visit the Country Garden Club’s website. And turn it up to 11.
