Halfway Mark for Weston Town Green Concerts: Reminisants This Week
Folks, we’re in full-on summer here in Weston which means Valley Pond and Memorial Pool are finally swimming temperature, there is absolutely no traffic anywhere in town so you might as well roll through the Intersection of Doom (I am kidding, officers) and we’re at the halfway mark of the Weston Town Green Concerts. Tomorrow night, Wednesday, July 6, you can enjoy the “oldies” played by the Remisants, a return guest here in Weston.
Being a Gen X, and proudly so, I will say that terming music from the 1990s as “oldies” is a bit of a reach for me. In the old days of the 90s, I was living it up with Crosby, Stills and Nash as my oldies out there in San Francisco where I was paid $20,000 a year for risk management and security work for Visa. Ah, those were good days hanging out with the former FBI guys and looking for counterfeit cards. Personally, I am okay with erasing the 90s as a musical decade since everyone knows the 70s and 80s were the best.
And so I digress. The Reminisants (no, spellcheck, that is spelled correctly) play tunes from the 50s to the 90s. Bring your folding lawn chairs, picnic blankets and your kids and grandkids. Good times in Weston.
Thank you Weston Recreation and Cambridge Trust.
