Rough Patch Salsa is Back Raising Money for Kids

Last year, local resident Julie Palen was on a mission to raise money for the Western Kansas Child Advocacy Center, an effort near and dear to her heart. With the help of salsa-lovers everywhere, she raised more than $21,000 for the Center. You can read more about her efforts on the Weston Owl here.
This summer, Julie made a last-minute decision to help out again, driving over 4,500 miles to Kansas for salsa-making, personal deliveries of salsa and appearing as a large pepper as necessary. Why? Because she believes in getting kids out of the cycle of abuse and getting them the best mental healthcare possible.
“It’s something I believe in so strongly that I will drop whatever I am doing and help,” said Julie, unwinding at home after last month’s road trip. “Helping others through a rough patch is just the right thing to do.”
Julie still has quite a few jars of salsa gracing the front entryway to her house. For $10, you get a pint container of most excellent summer salsa and you will be helping the Weston Kansas Child Advocacy Center. If you are really lucky, delivery to your Weston or nearby home will be made by blue Mustang, Julie’s signature color and car. You can find out more about Rough Patch Salsa and order some jars of your very own on facebook or by sending an email to Julie at julie.palen@fadeblu.com.
