Bonus Week at Memorial Pool and Renovation Vote at Special Town Meeting

Bonus Week at Memorial Pool has been confirmed! If you didn’t know, the pool often has to close during the final full week of August because our lifeguards swan off to things like higher education. This year, however, we have a fully volunteer crew of great blue herons and Canadian (yes Canadian not Canada) geese to watch your kiddies get their last summer splashes in. Oh, wait, no, that’s not true: we have actual fully licensed lifeguards from 12 pm – 7 pm on those days. Go big, Weston, because when you next see our fair pool it may look different, Special Town Meeting-and-construction season willing.

If you have been under a rock this summer or on top of one in the White Mountains, you may not know that the town will be voting on using Community Preservation Act (CPA) funds to renovate and fun-o-vate (it’s a word) the Pool. I say yay! And yet that counts for nothing unless you show up at Special Town Meeting on September 13 at the Wildcat Den, aka Weston High School Auditorium.

To learn more, perhaps while enjoying a shady spot at the pool, please read more information about the warrant article here and the proposed changes shown in the below image.
