Children’s Business Fair Applications Due September 15

Apparently, the mega-rave format is now popular in Weston after the success of Celebrate Weston! day this spring. Saturday, October 15 is lining up to be one giant mosh pit on what-hopefully-will-be-green-by-then-Town-Green and environs.

As I see it, you can start the day by running the WPBA 5K at 10, then sliding down the Fire station’s pole at their Open House at 11, followed by wandering through the children’s business fair at 12. Yes, the Weston Owl is the self-named official media sponsor of the entire day which will hereafter be known as Westonfest. No, Lollawestona. Working on it–random festival name generator is not working at the moment. Where is John Connolly when you need him?

In preparation for the Wayland-Weston Children’s Business Fair, the call has gone out for applications, now due September 15 (you can find the application here). The theme this year is “Environmental Sustainability” which I am completely excited about because you and I both know that kids know MUCH more than we do about how to treat the environment.

The Weston-Wayland Children’s Business Fair inspires children to discover their inner entrepreneurs. This one-day market gives children the opportunity to showcase their very own businesses. Kids develop a brand, create a product or service, build a marketing strategy, and then open for customers at the one-day marketplace held in and around the Weston Art & Innovation Center.

There will be approximately 50 booths at the 2nd annual event on Saturday, October 15, 2022, between 11 am – 3 pm.

This event is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Weston & Wayland and the generous support of donors and volunteers. For more information about the event, please see this link.
