Golden Ball Tavern Barn Sale This Saturday, September 24
I mean, seriously, is there any other Saturday in the whole year that is as busy as this one? Crazazy. Next up in the parade of things to do is the SHOPPING part!!
On Saturday, September 24 (hello) from 9 am to 3 pm, the Golden Ball Tavern Museum is hosting its 55th ANNUAL BARN SALE. If you are not familiar with the Golden Ball Tavern, you clearly have not taken every northsider’s favorite “avoid Highland intersection” shortcut on the way to the high school. It’s a cool old place, Brit-leaning of course, but Isaac Jones soon joined the coffee drinkers rather than the tea quaffers. If you have not gone to one of their open house Sundays, you can put the next one on your calendar. Back to shopping:
The GBT Barn sale includes beautiful items donated by the residents of Weston and surrounds in support of the Tavern. Items include Antique and Contemporary Furniture, Oriental Rugs, Waterford Crystal, Art, Pottery, Jewelry, Vintage and Contemporary Porcelain, Original Artwork and Photography, Kitchenware, Holiday Items, Old Cameras, Old Books, and More! Also, I saw a Bee Happy pillow that I super want.
The Barn Sale is held on the grounds of the historic Golden Ball Tavern Museum in Weston, Massachusetts – a unique Revolutionary era tavern that played a pivotal role as a base for British spies in the lead-up to the Revolutionary War.
The Barn Sale is the Museum’s only fund-raising event of the year. Go buy stuff. Proceeds from the sale of donated items support the museum’s preservation and education initiatives and are the main source of funding for the museum.
The Golden Ball Tavern and Museum is located at 662 Boston Post Road. For more information, please see their website.
