Blessings, Adoptable Dogs, and Tacos at UMC Weston October 8

Every once in a while, an event comes up that seems to be exactly planned for the Owl. That is the case for this Saturday’s Blessing of the Animals/Dog Adoption/Taco event. As I like to say, you can’t make this stuff up because you don’t have to–someone else has already done it.

On Saturday, October 8 from 9-10:30 am, you can bring your favorite pet (no fishers or coyotes please, elephants only by prior arrangement) to be blessed or remembered at the United Methodist Church’s Second Annual Blessing of the Animals. The Blessings are drop-in style, so please come and stay as long as you like, or as long as your pet’s patience lasts (in Katie Puppy’s case, there is no chance of more than five minutes). If your dog, gecko or cat would not appreciate the trip, you can also bring a favorite photo.

And then, if you are feeling like filling your home with more and more dogs, from 11am until 1pm, Great Dog Rescue New England will have an adoption event/meet & greet. Dogs and puppies will be on site for folks to meet, and information about the adoption process/applications will also be available.  Note that there is a massively friendly golden retriever named Harold also on UMC property–he is not for adoption, but greets the Round Hill runners every morning on their 5K loop. Hi Harold!

Finally, and this is where the Owl cup runneth over, there will be a TACO TRUCK on site also from 11 am-1 pm. Taco. Pet dogs. Taco. Pet puppies. We are all blessed.

The Weston United Methodist Church is located at 377 North Avenue.
