Fiber Fun — Annual Sale November 4 and 5 at the Weston AIC

It’s sweater, mitten and hat weather, Weston! Oh wait, no, I see that this weekend is actually going to be in the 70s. Does this worry anyone else? Yes, also me.

Never mind the climate doom, let’s get some fluffies–this is one of the Owl’s favorite local events. Beautiful handmade items presented by the Weaver’s Guild of America are all ready for your holiday gift-giving or “self-care routine” which is how I present all my large bills to Mr. Owl.

The Annual Fiber Arts Sale is this Friday and Saturday, November 4 and 5 (10 am-6 pm and 10 am -5 pm, respectively). This year, the Weavers’ Guild of Boston is celebrating 100 years (1922 – 2022) which means it will have even more stuff including: scarves, shawls, clothing, blankets, rugs, placemats, towels, and more. The majority of the items will be handwoven, though knitted, felted, sewn pieces, and jewelry will also be available. In addition to showcasing the designs of artisan weavers, Guild members will explain the weaving process with demonstrations on a hand loom.

So here’s your plan…start off at the Book and Bake Sale, then head over to the Fiber Arts sale and find some nice scarves and stuff to wrap yourself in to read your books in the Adirondack chairs in the 70s weather this weekend. Try not to think about the climate doom.

The Weston Art & Innovation Center is located at 356 Boston Post Road.
