The Owl was saddened to learn today of the death of Bob Mauro, Weston resident, at the age of 46, after a courageous fight against an extended illness. Bob was the husband to Barbara Pyke and devoted father to Dara (8) and Tess (5) — in 2nd Grade and Kindergarten at Woodland School.

Remembered by friends, Bob was an ever-present father until the last minutes of his life.  He was at every game, recital and visit to the pool.

Both Bob and his wife Barbara have served on the Board of Roxbury Weston Preschool where both their children went to pre-school.  While Bob and Barbara don’t have any family in Weston, in his final days, Bob said he found great comfort in knowing that Weston community members were surrounding his family with love and support.

The following obituary has been taken in its entirety from the John C. Bryant Funeral Home page. In addition, you can find a beautiful write-up from Boston College here. Rest in peace, Bob
