POSTPONED: Conservation Stewardship Saturday: Cold Brook Stream December 17

Yesterday’s frosting of Highland Forest

Update December 14: Due to expected weather, this Stewardship Saturday has been postponed to a future date.

For the last Stewardship Saturday of 2022 on Saturday, December 17 from 10 am to 12 pm, please join Weston Conservation Staff and WFTA volunteers on the desirable southside (farrrrrrrr southside) and get to know a property known as Cold Brook Stream, a delightful little patch of woods near Wellesley.

The team will be constructing a series of new bog bridges and rerouting two short trail segments with the goal of reducing erosion and creating a more enjoyable trail corridor. Work will involve a lumber carry-in, hammer + nail construction of the bog bridges, brush removal and dragging, and raking, digging and grubbing of the new trail surface. Not only do you get the gratitude of your town’s conservation organization, but as a bonus, you’ll get to experience a beautiful conservation area in Weston you’ve probably never visited!

Park on the shoulder of Summit Road, north/right side as you enter from Glen Road— look for other cars!  MAP
