School Committee Meets Monday, February 13; Budget, PE, and Other Fun Stuff

The Weston School Committee’s next meeting will take place via Zoom only on Monday, February 13, at 6:30 p.m.
Agenda topics include:
-a public hearing on the superintendent’s recommended FY24 budget
-a vote on WEEFC’s grant request to establish a robotics and engineering lab at Weston Middle School
-a vote on expanding Weston High School’s PE class substitution pilot to juniors
-a vote on revisions to the committee’s community-relations policies
-a vote on the draft school report for the 2022 town report
The public is invited to attend. Fifteen minutes have been set aside on the agenda for public comment, with up to three minutes allocated per speaker.

Okay, because the Owl can only go so many words without editorial comment, and this post is waaaaaaaay over that limit, she will say that the agendas for School Committee have gone way high-tech this year with links and time limits and explanations of voting types etc. Check it out, other town committees, and think about it.
Also, the Owl is totally in favor of junior opt-out of PE.If my kids had done a lot of PE that involved, well, anything but badminton, I would feel differently. Again, scooter hockey would be my choice.
