Council on Aging Announces New Director Joan Ingersoll

.

The Board of the Council on Aging today announced the imminent arrival of Joan Ingersoll, who will become the Weston COA Director on March 20. Most recently, Joan was the Director of the Council on Aging and Human Services in Carlisle and previously served as Assistant Director of the Council on Aging and Human Services in Lincoln. The following information was contained in the townwide mailing except for the part where I embellish stuff like the importance of choosing a town based on cool mascots (Wildcats vs Patriots (Concord-Carlisle) vs Warriors (Lincoln-Sudbury). C-C and L-S are so fight-y, no? Wildcats are cool. Where was I? Oh yes.

Joan has spent part of her career working within nonprofit agencies focused on people with disabilities and behavioral health needs, serving as CEO of the Mental Health Association in Springfield, MA before transitioning into services for older adults. Joan has a Master’s degree in Management of Human Services from the Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University (OWLS!) and a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Literature from Dartmouth College (Big Green, apparently).

If you would like to ask Joan pertinent questions about her past mascots, or about her newly adopted one, you can probably find her at the COA’s offices after March 20, and I’m double-checking if there will be mega-fun jam or at least a coffee open to the public.
