WHS Spring Sports Info Session – Tonight, Monday, March 6

The view many of our competitors get of Weston at Spring Track

Tonight, Monday March 6 at 6 pm, Weston High School athletics coaches and I assume our Athletic Director will be conducting the  Spring Player/Parent Meetings. These meetings will be for high school student-athletes and their families. There will be sport-specific meetings only – no general assembly.  I don’t mean to be biased but join track (ahahaaha, the lacrosse people get crazy when I do this). We need pole vaulters. Try it, you’ll like it, kids.

“Our pre-season meetings are a great opportunity for parents/guardians and student-athletes to meet the coaching staffs, learn about tryouts, practice and game schedules as well as ask questions,” said Mike McGrath.  It is also an opportunity for coaches to cover team expectations and other important information for the upcoming season. Finally, it is an opportunity for parents to marvel at our very old high school and how great learning happens in spite of very ugly maroon lockers. Go ‘cats.

Like each sports season, all student-athletes are required to register on FamilyID (www.familyid.com) as well as have an up-to-date physical on file with the school nurse.

In addition, please note that Weston Athletics is (stubbornly) still on Twitter and you can find there all Athletic information – scores, accomplishments, postponements/changes, etc. @WestonAthletic. Spring athletic schedules are on ArbiterLive (www.arbiterlive)

The start date for Spring Sports will be Monday, March 20th.

Note the incredibly wide variety and choice in our small town’s athletic opportunities. Seriously, now read through them again. What a school system!
