What’s the Haps at Weston Provisions: Flowers, Italian Night and More

.
The Owl admits that today has not been the best except for two most excellent trail walks–one at Ogilvie (slushy snow most of the way) and Hubbard (clear trail plus some icy excitement). Wear your yaktrax and get outside for this lovely afternoon. Bonus: escape your kids who have a day off today. Did I just say that aloud? Yes, I did.
On my return hike from Hubbard forest, an urge for a roast beef sandwich from Weston Provisions overwhelmed me and I fear I had to walk and Toast-order at the same time. Nothing bad happened. All good happened. Two giant sandwiches awaited me 10 minutes after I ordered–fine, I admit I ordered a spare for an owlet. The best thing about Weston Provisions sandwiches–two meals. Second half awaiting my late afternoon snack. If you have not tried a WP sandwich, get over there. Probably too late today–sandwich making shuts down at 3:30. You might make it if you do what the white SUV did on my way home through the Intersection of Doom…don’t bother stopping. That was exciting. Don’t do that. Order some other day.

Tomorrow, Saturday, March 11 at Weston Provisions, you can catch Weston resident and Wellesley College sister alum Rachel Lee’s Moon Rabbit Flowers and a pop-up flower shop. Who needs flowers? You need flowers. Your friends need flowers. The world needs flowers. Check it out Saturday March 11 only from 8-1, payment by cash or venmo.
Next week Thursday March 16 turns out to be Italian Night at Weston Provisions. I commented to Hannah, owner of Weston Provisions, that this was a bold move considering Friday is St. Patrick’s Day and just about everything around is Irish-themed or is green except for the trees. Soon…. And Hannah responded “well, you have to carbo-load to handle all the beer on Friday” and she is so right. Even if you don’t celebrate St. Patrick’s Day, carb-loading is fun. Lasagna, people. You can place your order now and schedule pick-up then which is helpful.

.
I have an idea for the next pop-up shop at Weston Provisions…you ready? Yes you are. Let’s do a pop-up shop for Boosters gear. Weston EVERYTHING. It’s time for spring sports which means you, dear parent, are going to be out in 45 degree weather on a sideline. Boosters has really nice sweatshirts. And for a good cause.
And that concludes this week’s final Owl. Maybe. Things to do, places to go.
Shop local! And go ‘cats!
Weston Provisions is located at 403 Boston Post Road in the “Walgreens Shopping Plaza.” https://www.westonprovisions.com/
