Beethoven and Schubert, Piano 4-Hands at WPL March 19

.

On Sunday, March 19 at 3 pm, the Music Committee welcomes the ever-popular pianists, Jon Sakata and Jung Mi Lee, back to the Community Room for another memorable piano 4-hands performance. They will play their arrangement of the third movement (Adagio molto e cantabile) from Beethoven’s 9th Symphony as well as Schubert’s Sonata in C Major, D. 812 (the “Grand Duo”). Experience the joy of listening to Jon and Jung Mi’s superb musical performances and watching their graceful choreography as they share a single keyboard.

Jung Mi and Jon have performed around the world, not only on piano but across many artistic disciplines, and have been featured in countries as diverse as Brazil, France, Denmark, and the People’s Republic of China. They have collaborated internationally with painters, architects, and poets, exploring the interstices between music and other disciplines. In February of 2022, they had the honor of being invited by New England Conservatory to play concert tribute to the late iconic composer and music theorist Robert Cogan, with whom they toured extensively both in the US and abroad. Jung Mi and Jon live in Exeter, New Hampshire, and have taught on the Music Faculty at Phillips Exeter Academy since the mid-1990s.

The concert is free and open to the public, and the Community Room is handicapped accessible. Covid precautions will be observed; masks are encouraged. For more information, please visit the Music Committee webpage.
