Walk and Talk with the COA Director and the Town Manager May 24

Anyone recognize this? This is the once and future office of WFTA at the JST. Photo for attention.

On Wednesday, May 24 at 1 pm, come out for a Walk & Talk with Weston Town Manager Leon Gaumond and new Council on Aging Director, Joan Ingersoll. The walk will take place at the one and only Case Campus, and hopefully will include the delightful Legacy Trail. On the way, you might get a chance to see Fifth Grade Trees including the new maple in the parking lot near Field School, peruse the narrowly-defeated-as-a-garden ancient Rhododendron Grove, the Nature Classroom and the compass rose at the end of Legacy Trail. Please note that the lady slippers ARE OUT at the Nature Classroom south side trail–and they are as beautiful as they are strange, and I love them. And no one cares, says an Owlet.

Slightly out of focus lady slipper photo. Don’t pick them please.

This is a great opportunity to interact with Weston’s town manager and to learn more about town projects and issues of note in Weston. If I were going on this walk, and I am not, my questions would include:

  1. Memorial Day parade – happening or not?
  2. JoSTice – I would demand justice for the Josiah Smith Tavern and ask what is the plan…again…
  3. Case Estate buildings – updates on those three sad sad Case Barn, Schoolhouse and Rand House properties.
  4. Water tanks. Because I miss talking about them.

Fine, you ask what you want. Questions and conversation are encouraged. In case of inclement weather, the conversation will take place indoors at the COA.

Wednesday, May 24, 1:00-2:00, Meet at the COA at 12:50.

Call the COA at 781-786-6280 to register.
