Yes, it is that time of year with holiday fairs, festivals, sales, and PARTIES. I am only miffed that I forgot to post last week’s WCL event as a JoSTice League event as anyone who has read this page more than once knows that I like to call the Josiah Smith Tavern the “JoSTice” and that’s where the Friendsgiving was held…and well, that joke has sailed but the chance for a mixed metaphor has not.

Fortunately, the Weston Community League (WCL) puts up with my shenanigans and won’t mind me inviting you to the Gibbet (GBT or Golden Ball Tavern) for their next party (not counting the Tree Lighting). Yes, the WCL is hitting ANOTHER tavern for a party, this one the Tory Tavern down the street from the JST.

On Saturday, December 9 from 5 pm-7pm, members, guests and significant others are all invited to put on their best festive attire (I believe this opens the door to an ugly sweater, no?) and enjoy “light bites” and “loud laughter.” Hmmm. Also cocktails. Because, yes this tavern does have a license to carry alcohol. Please enjoy responsibly, or call a friend for a ride home.

The WCL Holiday Cocktail Party will be held at the Golden Ball Tavern whereby WCL is proud to be a sponsor of “Trimming the Tavern – A Winter Wonderland” in partnership with the Country Garden Club of Weston and the Golden Ball Tavern Museum.
