Umbrella Arts Concord

Both in-person and virtual classes for ages 5-12. artistic disciplines such as: Drawing & Painting, 2D and 3D Mixed Media, Ceramics, Performance Art, Woodworking etc. Half day and full day camps. Openings are currently available for most weeks. 40 Stow Street, Concord.

Beehive Wayland

Summer Art Outside. Different and exciting art projects, colorful materials and fun techniques. In person morning or afternoon classes for ages 4-12. Most early weeks are sold out. The Hive at DeCordova Museum Lincoln

Campers learn to make connections to contemporary art, artists, nature, and ideas as well as to each other. Passionate instructors enable campers to take on challenges, solve problems, and explore visual culture and the environment. Full day sessions, ages 5-12 Note: all weeks are currently full but the waitlist is open. 51 Sandy Pond Lane, Lincoln.

Summer Studio for Teens at DeCordova Museum Lincoln

New summer studio camp for teens offers a space for teenagers to refine and expand their artistic skills as they dive into creative projects alongside accomplished teachers and artists. . Two week long sessions, August 9-20, 1-4:30 pm 51 Sandy Pond Lane

Arts – Performing

Film-making for Middle Schoolers Weston Art & Innovation Center

Weeklong full-day film-making camp for 6-8th graders. Campers will learn skills in scriptwriting, storyboard sketching, improvisation and camera skills. Students will write, shoot and edit a film in a genre of their choosing and edit their project together using the professional editing software Adobe Premiere. July 12-16, 356 Boston Post Road, Weston. 

Spotlight Summer Theatre Workshop – Needham

Three week-long theatre arts camp, with two sessions during the summer. Both for ages 6-17. July focus is High School Musical, August is Legally Blonde.

LINX Camp  – Wellesley

LINX continues to offer a great variety of full-day camps including those focused on the performing arts. Ages K-8. Availability depends on the camp but the suggestion is to hurry over–June and July camps seem mostly filled. Full day.

Brave Arts Theatre at Cambridge School of Weston

Brave Arts teaches the skills of musical theatre through teaching songs and dances from a range of musical genres, including musical theatre, pop, rock, country, etc to kids ages 7 to 17. Three week-long sessions are currently offered. Full day.

Wellesley Theatre Project

One-week and multi-week camps in everything arts from audition prep to Disney to production, grades kindergarten through 12th. Availability unknown. Check it out at

Weston Drama Workshop

Sold out, but put it in your reminder list to sign up. While originally a program limited to high school and college students, WDW also offers a musical theater program for middle school students (known as the “morning program”) and a theater program for young audiences.

Wheelock Family Theatre Summer Splash – Virtual Only.

Wheelock canceled all summer in-person camp, but offers some at-home options for dramatic arts.

Traditional Day Camps

There are a number of traditional day camps in the area–though the Owl questions somewhat the definition of “traditional” around here. The Owl went to a real day camp with logs to sit on for story time, a few ponies to ride around and a lake to swim in. Camp Kiwi was the best. Anyway, depending on your level of needing extra-whizz-bangs, some will work for you, and some will not.

Weston Recreation Summer Camps

There are six weeks of fun camps run by Weston Recreation and staffed by local high school and college students. Camp ABC is for ages 4-5 and is a half day camp held at Woodland School. Camp Adventure is for rising 1st-5th graders, is full day and is held at Cambridge School of Weston. Finally, Sports Camp is for rising 2nd-5th graders, full day and held at Cambridge School of Weston. You can get more information here:

Meadowbrook – Weston

Offering two 3-week sessions for K-8. Teen Adventures is canceled this year. All of the traditional boating, arts, crafts, archery, etc. M-F, 8:20-3:40,

Sewataro – Sudbury

I have never seen so many activities in my life. Ages 3-15. Half day program for the preschoolers, full day for the older kids. Preschool is one-week sessions while older ages can choosed 2, 4, 6 or 8 week sessions.

Nonesuch at Rivers School – Weston

Another activity-filled camp including pond life and boating. Ages 7-15. Full day, 2 week sessions.

Beaver Day Camp – Chestnut Hill

Traditional camp plus arts, sports and other specialty Camps. Preschool-8th grade. Full day, 1 week or 2 week sessions.

Ten Acre – Wellesley

Traditional and sports camps for preschool to age 12. Very low availability or full with waitlist for all ages (5/23/2021). Two week sessions.

Nobles Day Camp – Dedham

Traditional summer camp for preschool to grade 9.

Summer Fenn – Concord

Traditional summer camp called Base Camp from kindergarten to 10th grade. Two-week sessions,hours 9-3:30. Specialty camps also offered–STEAM, drama, sports, art.

Dexter-Southfield – Brookline

Traditional, specialty (girls in science) and sports camps (hockey and soccer) for ages 3.5-13. Weekly camps. Owlet is working as a CIT at soccer camp, just fyi.


There are a number of one-sport camps in the area. Soccer is offered by most Massachusetts club teams, as well as lacrosse and hockey. Tennis and golf camps are at local public and private facilities.

Baseball skills with Weston Little League

Two day fielding and hitting clinics at Burchard Park for ages 7-12. June28-July 1. Run by local coaches, and staffed by local middle and high school students, 9 am-3 pm.

Boating in Boston – Boston

Boating camps for kids and teens. Weekly.

STEM and Nature

Land’s Sake – Weston

Land’s Sake offers weekly camps for 1st grade up through 8th grade, as well as a volunteer work program for high schoolers. Farm & Forest is for 1st-3rd graders, Junior Farmers for 4th and 5th, and Green Power for 6th-8th grade. Some weeks are full, but they accept waitlist.

Drumlin Farm Camp – Lincoln

Nature camps, two week sessions. Themed nature camps and farming camps three-days to one week. Also a teen camp focusing on environmental leadership. May be mostly filled but has a working waitlist. Pre-K to age 17.

Mazemakers at Meadowbrook

Architecture, robotics, 3D Printing and other challenges await campers from rising 2nd graders – rising eighth graders. Three-week sessions.

Broadmoor Nature Camps – Natick

Nature-themed camps. One week and two week camps for kids 4-14. 9-3:30.


French Cultural Center – Summer in French – Somerville

Instruction in French for kids aged 5-12. One week or multiple sections. Teen classes and virtual options also available.
