Professor Alexandra Vacroux, Executive Director of the Davis Center
for Russian and Eurasian Studies at Harvard, will return to the Local and
Global Discussion Group of the Weston Council on Aging on Thursday,
March 9 for an update on Ukraine a year after the Russian invasion.
Among other topics, she will discuss: Have economic sanctions
worked? What have been the ripple effects of the war? What is Putin’s
endgame? What should we do now?
The meeting will be held in person at the CoA, with an opportunity to
participate via Zoom, from 1:15 to about 3 pm. It is open to anyone who
wishes to engage in a civil discussion of the issues with a wide variety of
participants.

The Rivers Symphony Orchestra was established in 1996 and is made up of talented adult and advanced students in the community. 2023 RSC Concerto Competition winners Valerie Bai and Daniel Chin-Garita will be soloing with the group.

RSO will be performing Jean Sibelius' Karelia Overture, Joseph Haydn's Violin Concerto in C Major (with Valerie Bai), Niccolò Paganini's Violin Concerto No. 1, Op 6 (with Daniel Chin-Garita), and Alexander Borodin's Symphony No. 2 in B Minor.
