Arbor Day Program with Peter Del Tredici, Urban Ecologist and Botanist, April 25

Join Weston’s Tree Advisory Group for an Arbor Day* lecture by Peter Del Tredici, noted urban ecologist and botanist, on April 25 at 7 pm at the Community Room of the Weston Public Library. Peter will talk about the impacts of climate change, urbanization, and invasive species on the forests of the Northeast.

Peter has been a long-time, active voice in horticulture, botany, and landscape architecture. He has worked for Harvard University since 1972 at the Harvard Forest, the Arnold Arboretum, and the Graduate School of Design. He has lectured widely on urban ecology and the role that plants play in making cities more livable. You can read more about Peter and his book on his website.

This talk is free and open to the public. The evening will begin at 6:30 with light refreshments, followed by the lecture at 7:00. Copies of Peter’s book, Wild Urban Plants of the Northeast: A Field Guide, will be available for purchase; there will be a signing table after the lecture.
